December 10

Alex is 8 and is in the second grade at Jefferson East Elementary School in Jefferson. He was diagnosed in December, 2012 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia T-Cell.

In 2015, he relapsed and was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was the second patient enrolled in a Clinical Trial of Dr. Michael Burke’s of the Medical College of Wisconsin in the MACC Fund Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. With no time for a donor search, he received an umbilical blood transplant in August, 2015. He hit his projected milestones early and his doctor credits his upbeat personality to helping him. He enjoys having fun with the nurses in the Northwestern Mutual Day Hospital and the MACC Fund Clinic. He likes Phy Ed the best and enjoys Pokemon as well as karate, baseball, football and swimming. He loves being a normal kid catching up on all that he missed. Aaron Rodgers is his favorite Packer. His mom saysthe MACC Fund Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is amazing. I absolutely love it. We always feel safe. I feel like I have family there.”
